Enrolment

Enrolment

Preschool follows the NSW school term dates. Holidays are taken at the same time as NSW Public Schools. We have three pupil free days per year. The first day of Term 1 and the last two days of Term 4 are pupil free days. You are not charged fees for these days.

Our opening hours are 8.00 am to 3.30 pm.

We offer 2 or 3 day enrolments.  Please complete an application form and return to the preschool.  We are funded under the Start Strong program, which requires us to prioritise enrolments to children in the year before school (turning 4 before 31st July in the year of enrolment), or who meet other funding guidelines.  Contact the preschool for more information regarding the enrolment of your child.

Part of our enrolment process is organising an interview with the Director.  At this meeting we will discuss your child’s needs and arrange an orientation visit. This can help you and your child become familiar with the preschool environment, the educators and routines. It is helpful for families to learn the educator’s names and feel comfortable in the setting with the educators who are going to care for their child. We will give you a book with routine pictures in it at the time of enrolment, for families to read prior to coming to preschool.  Our goal is to ensure that children and their parents/carers feel safe, secure and supported.

Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn.
